Clean Drinking Water You Can Touch: dropvital at Umweltarena Schweiz

Dropvital isnow an official exhibition partner ofUmweltarena Schweiz in Spreitenbach. What this means for you, why thisplace is so special—and whyfiltered tap water is more sustainable, more affordable, and healthier than bottled water.

Sustainability You Can Experience

The Umweltarena Schweiz in Spreitenbach is an interactive experience and a destination for exploring sustainable, modern living. Across more than 45 interactive exhibition areas, leading partners from Swiss business and science demonstrate how energy, mobility, nutrition, consumption, and construction can be designed to be both environmentally friendly and practical for everyday life. The approach behind it is as simple as it is compelling: sustainability shouldn’t just be explained—it should be experienced. Touch it, try it out, and judge for yourself.

It is precisely in this setting that dropvital now has its own exhibition space. Our drinking water systems aren’t hidden behind a glass pane. They’re in operation. And you can drink the result right away.

The location: Umweltarena Schweiz in Spreitenbach

Behind the Umweltarena Schweiz is Walter Schmid—a builder and general contractor, visionary, and doer. The idea came about when he realized that a project only really gets off the ground when people can experience and feel it—not just read or talk about it. The Umweltarena in Spreitenbach opened its doors in 2012, and since then it has become Switzerland’s leading center of excellence for sustainability.

The numbers speak for themselves: The Umweltarena spans over 4,000 m² of exhibition space and welcomes around 130,000 visitors per year. About 145 exhibition partners demonstrate how sustainability works in everyday life across 45 interactive exhibition areas. The Umweltarena was recently named “Switzerland’s Top Group Destination 2026” by Gruppentouristik.com.

For dropvital, the partnership with this venue is no coincidence. The Umweltarena fosters innovation and collaborates with trusted partners in the environmental sector to bring the latest offerings and services related to the environment, energy, and Nachhaltigkeit to life in its exhibition worlds, making them tangible and understandable. That’s exactly where we belong.

What You’ll Discover at Our Booth in the Umweltarena

At the dropvital exhibition booth, you won’t find a glossy brochure—instead, you’ll find a working installation: real products, connected to the tap water supply, and ready to use. A large information board in dropvital blue tells you everything you need to know about drinking water quality, filtration technology, and sustainability. And then: you simply drink.

nano-tap – the countertop solution

The nano-tap can be connected directly to the water faucet and requires no permanent installation. It’s ready to use in just a few minutes. At the exhibition, you’ll experience just how straightforward the installation is—and how great the result tastes. The nano-tap is especially suitable for anyone who doesn’t want to bring tools or a plumber into their kitchen: for home, the campervan, the vacation home, or the office.

nano-drink and ultranano-drink – the under-sink solutions

If you’d like to take it a step further, you’ll also find dropvital’s under-sink solutions in the showroom. The nano-drink and ultranano-drink are installed under the sink to save space—no loss of countertop space, and the filtration system remains hidden. Filtered drinking water flows directly from the regular water faucet. In the exhibition, you can even see the under-cabinet installation with the door open: you’ll see the system live and in operation, with all its components.
The ultranano-drink takes filtration even further: it filters down to 0.0005 micrometers and also reduces calcium compounds, fluoride, nitrate, nitrite, and phosphates. An integrated germ-protection filter ensures lasting hygiene throughout the entire system.

Why should you filter drinking water?

The exhibition in Spreitenbach answers this question clearly—and it’s well worth a visit. While clean drinking water from the tap is taken for granted in Switzerland, it isn’t always free of contaminants. As water travels through old pipes, soil, and bodies of water, unwanted substances find their way into it. Many of these substances are invisible but can affect water quality.
Dropvital’s nanofiltration system filters down to 0.002 micrometers. This reduces the following substances, among others, from drinking water:

  • PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)
  • Bacteria and viruses
  • Heavy metals
  • Pesticides
  • Drug residues
  • Microplastics
  • Chlorine

Filtration takes place through several coordinated filter stages. Fine membranes and an additional germ filter reduce unwanted substances and help maintain high hygiene standards in the system. Water flow remains stable—the system can be relied upon for everyday use.

Filtered tap water is more sustainable than bottled water
This is not a marketing claim. It is a factual statement clearly illustrated in the Umweltarena exhibition:

Filtered drinking water is more sustainable than bottled water because:

  • less packaging needs to be produced
  • less energy is required for bottling and transportation
  • less CO₂ is generated during transport
  • existing water pipes are used
  • no PET bottles are used and no plastic waste is generated

By the way: Bottled water is, in most cases, nothing more than filtered water. So why not just filter it yourself—right from your own wasserhahn?

A visit well worth your time

The Umweltarena Schweiz features over 45 permanent exhibitions spread across four floors, organized into the thematic areas of Nature and Life, Energy and Mobility, Construction and Modernization, and Renewable Energy. Whether it’s biodiversity, nutrition, or energy: the motto is “experience and try it out.”

It’s a great outing for the whole family—and it’s especially worth stopping by the dropvital booth. Not to get advice, but simply to have a drink and judge for yourself.
