The malic acid used is proven to be harmless to health and the limescale protection is carried out without salt, electricity or waste water and ensures permanently protected installations with consistent, natural water quality.

Frequently asked questions

The recommended replacement period is 6 to a maximum of 12 months for hygienic reasons. Earlier replacement within this period may be necessary if the water flow is noticeably reduced. This is not a defect in the filter, but an indication of increased contamination by fine particles in the untreated water.

The actual maintenance interval may vary depending on the size of the house, water hardness, water consumption, pipe network and other external influences. On this basis, we will inform you individually of the optimum replacement time.

Dropvital guarantees a term of 12 months, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Important information. There are no additional costs for you. Neither electricity nor waste water nor other maintenance contracts or hidden costs. 

You can easily carry out maintenance yourself. For each cartridge, you will receive a QR code with the maintenance instructions in the desired language and a clear step-by-step video.

In general, it is important to understand: If a supplier says that it filters pesticides, for example, then this statement is theoretically true - depending on the pore size of the filter. With classic activated carbon filters, this is typically a maximum of 0.1 micrometers.

Pollutants with a particle size below this pore size cannot be physically retained. In practice, this means that not all dissolved substances are effectively removed. Many suppliers keep this general and do not publish any specific information on pore size. Insist on transparent proof.

Conventional activated carbon filters operate in the range of around 0.1 micrometers.

In independent laboratory tests by the international testing institute SGS, Dropvital has proven that nano-soft-home achieves an effective filter performance of up to 0.002 micrometers.

The decisive difference lies in the structure of the filter material. The design of the nano-soft-home ensures that retained substances are not released back into the water. With classic activated carbon filters, channels can form in the filter bed over the course of use, which reduces the filter performance.

Nano-soft-home is designed for a service life of up to 12 months and is therefore replaced annually.

Conclusion

The test results underline the excellent effectiveness of Dropvital in the filtration of PFAS. While nano-soft-drink showed impressive reductions of up to 100 % in several categories, nano-soft-home achieved complete removal (100 %) in all tested substances.

The deliberate decision not to test long-chain PFAS is based on sound scientific findings that these substances generally already bind to surfaces or materials and can therefore be retained in upstream processes.

The results confirm the high quality and reliability of these filtration devices for use in water treatment.

The descaling in nano-soft-home is based on the same active principle as in soft-home. Malic acid is used in both systems, which chemically binds the limescale-forming minerals. It is not a matter of turbulence or magnetization, but of genuine descaling, proven in the German DVGW laboratory and awarded the top grade 1.

The difference lies in the amount of malic acid used:

The nano-soft-home cartridge contains around 550 g of malic acid, while the soft cartridge works with around 1 kg of malic acid.

Due to this different amount of active ingredient, the nano-soft-home cartridge achieves a limescale protection rate of around 80 %, while the soft-home cartridge achieves a limescale protection rate of over 94 %.

No. Nano-soft-home does not change the pH value of the water.

Filtration takes place without any chemical pH shift. The natural pH value of the source water remains unchanged.

The carbon structure used in nano-soft-home is built up in a wet spinning process on fibre-based carrier materials such as rayon, then carbonized, activated and processed into a highly structured membrane.

This process enables us to achieve an extremely high internal surface area (m²/g) compared to conventional activated carbon filters. The cartridges are predominantly based on micropores with a diameter of ≤ 2 nanometers.

Conventional activated carbon filters, on the other hand, mainly work with mesopores and macropores (10-50 nanometers and ≥ 50 nanometers respectively), which are significantly larger.

In other words:

Nano-soft-home filters down to 0.002 micrometers, while conventional activated carbon filters are typically around 0.1 micrometers.
